The assessment process includes an initial information gathering session with the parents to determine the nature of the child or young person’s difficulties. This includes any information in relation to psychological, developmental issues that may be impacting upon the child or young person. Sally may also need to discuss the child or young person’s presentation and profess with relevant teaching staff and/or their medical professional.
Following the initial assessment, a meeting will be held with the parent to discuss the results of the assessment and to determine whether any additional assessments may need to occur.
Each stage of the assessment process will take up to 90 minutes per session. This can be a very tiring process for the child or young person and as such, multiple assessments are generally completed over a number of days and sessions. Once all assessments have been completed, Sally will provide the family with a written report.
